Florida Flocking, 2003

The Florida Flocking has come and gone and was a huge success.

There were 14 attendees including Roosters, their XYLs and guests at the motel restaurant for dinner on Thursday the 20th at 1800.

On Friday morning, a group of 19 including Roosters, their wives and guests went to Port Canaveral and boarded the Sterling Casino ship for a very pleasant cruise. They had a great time eating, gambling, enjoying the entertainment and just relaxing topside enjoying the great weather.

Friday evening was dinner-out night at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville where we had a great dinner & good conversation. There were a total of 21 including Roosters and their guests.

Saturday was picnic day at the QTH of KG4KBO Connie and WD4EBA Paul. When I went outside early Saturday morning, the weather didn’t look very good as there were some very ominous clouds overhead. I thought we were going to have rain again, as it has rained during past Flockings here. After a while, the sky cleared, the sun appeared and it turned out to be a beautiful day. It was a little breezy but still pleasant. Connie had prepared a buffet consisting of BBQ chicken, roast beef, corned beef, turkey, honey ham, cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, shrimp salad and baked beans. There were also several desserts and plenty of refreshing beverages including cold beer, sodas and hot coffee. Everyone had plenty to eat and drink and expressed their desire to come back next year. There were a total of 27 attending including Roosters and their guests at the picnic.

Connie and I want to thank everyone for their help in setting up & cleaning up at the picnic. It was really appreciated. Thank you all for making the Florida Flocking 2003 a success.
