Florida Flocking, 2005 Received from WD4EBA: Friday 3 December 2004 Hi Roosters & XYLs, The 2005 Florida Rooster Flocking is planned for Wednesday 9 February 2005 thru Friday 11 February 2005 in Cocoa, FL. The Orlando Hamcation (Hamfest) is from Friday 11 February thru Sunday 13 February and many of the Roosters have expressed an interest in attending this function. The web site is : http://www.hamcation.com/As those of you who are race fans know, the following week is Race Week in Daytona and hotel rooms are hard to find and are more expensive, even in the Cocoa area, during that period. We have contacted the Econo Lodge, which is located at the intersection of US 1, and FL 528 (The Beeline) and their price for this period will be $54.00 per day including tax and breakfast. We have until 20 January 2005 to make reservations. The phone number for the motel is 1-888-721-9423. In the past we have made reservations at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville for Friday evening dinner but recently we have found their service and food to be mediocre and pricey. There are other options in the area. Will do more research on restaurants and put out additional info later. We will plan the dinner for Thursday evening as the picnic is on Friday. The casino ships are still in operation at Port Canaveral and they have morning and evening sailings for those who wish to participate. The buffet is free and very good and, if you are gambling, the drinks are free.
