Blessed by generosity...

On January 2nd, the Ft. Pierce (Florida) Tribune published this "Letter to the Editor" from Linda (XYL of Roy, KJ4YF). Tom, K3TS, sent it to us.

Blessed by generosity....

Taking care of people has always been my passion and I have been fortunate to be Dr. Abdul Shadani's nurse for more than 12 years.

On Dec. 17, 2003, at age 47, my world suddenly was turned upside down. Dr. Shadani and Dr. Aggarwal gently informed me I had a mass in the brain and needed to have surgery immediately. The surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor was done by Dr. Burkarth the following day.

I never had a chance to be afraid, which was a good thing.

The recovery has been lengthy, with a lot of ups and downs along the way. But it was made easier by many people ... including strangers.

My husband Roy and I were astonished by all the cards, prayers and generous support we received. My co-workers, Dianne Grockenberger and Mary Steward, held not one, not two, but three benefits to help defray the catastrophic medical costs we face.
An anonymous patient and her church donated a surprise Thanksgiving dinner.

We understand Christmas dinner also is being supplied anonymously.

The words "thank you" don't seem enough to convey the magnitude of our deep appreciation. We are truly blessed by the thoughtfulness and generosity of so many good and caring people.

May God bless you all.
