60th Anniversary WHHS, and a Rooster.

During our net on 12/5/2009 Dick K3ITH told us that he attended the WHHS-FM 60th Anniversary celebration this past Friday night, December 4, held at Haverford High School (Delaware County) and took a few pictures. He added that on December 16th at the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia luncheon, they will honor WHHS for their 60 years of broadcasting, and that there may be an article in that day's Philadelphia Inquirer. There is also an article in the USATODAY™ Newspaper.

He continued by saying that while talking with the current student staff he mentioned that he was Chief Engineer in his Junior and Senior years, plus Radio Engineer prior to that, and that they broadcasted all the home, and away football, and basketball games. They told him that they still had the Collins Remote Amplifier they used back in 1961-1963, and they brought it out to show him.

During the event he mentioned that they had a slide show running where he was able to capture some of the photos, and that he hoped to be able to get a copy of the original.
