The Board of Advisors met on Saturday April 25th at Jim Toth, K3CHJ's home.

Financial Information: The Roosters Treasury contains about $4000. A detailed report was available to the Board of Advisors. Most of our funds are used to purchace supplies, liability insurance, and to advance finance the Rooster Weekend.

The Rooster Weekend will be July 9th through the 12th. Thursday evening kickoff will be cocktails, and heavy hors d'oeuvres at Walt, and Donna's home. Normally about 30 attend.

Friday morning at 9 AM is the golf outing at Spring Hollow Golf Club.

The Friday Dinner will be held at 4PM at Jim, and Dotty's home. Plans are for steaks, and ham etc. The menu, and price will be finalized in the next few days. This is to keep the cost down, and to keep the time, and place to socialize up. Normal attendance is about 30.

The picnic is Saturday at St. Michael Park. 8AM until 4PM plus. The coming announcement will have all details. Jim AF3R, and Jim K3CHJ will handle photography needs. Hal, and Ken will co-chair. Jim K3JJC will handle soda, and beer. We need 50-50 sellers. Normal attendance is 110 adults, and children. Myrtle will handle Silent Keys. Carolyn - WB3LBR offered to be her backup. The picnic letter with all details, and a reservation form will be published around June 1st.

Net operation was discussed. We are the Rooster Net. We start at 6AM. We close at 8:30. To be a Rooster you must check in between 6AM and 7AM. Crow ins should occur before 7AM. Only extreme circumstances excuse crow ins after 7AM. If candidates cannot meet these requirements, they probably should find another net. We enjoy talking on the radio, and to be true to our name, and our heritage. Our target audience are fellow hams who enjoy talking on the radio near the time of sunrise. We are a Net. We have no by-laws, constitution, or articles of incorporation, and no officers except one.

We will be sending a memorial donation to worthy causes in memory of very active Roosters, long time net controls, and Roosters of the year. A memorial donation will be made in memory of Merle - K2AOV. We may need to have a fund raiser to handle these donations. Someone needs to suggest a fund raiser that does not draw from what we currently use to fund our current operation. Hint: No one is handling clothing sales.

Bob Molloy has offered to take back the Rooster database so that Will can concentrate on the website. We need to get our database, and roster up to date, and complete from Rooster number 1 to the current newest Rooster 1278.

We have had 34 new Roosters since the last picnic. Joe - N3LMV #1245 up to Marc - N3ZAN #1278. We are growing!

Paul will contact suggested Roosters to be available as stand in net controls. He will prepare a list with candidates from the Advisors, and Net Controls. It will include most likely days available, and a method to contact them. The list will be given to "regular" net controls. Stand in NCs will be offered KD2UJ's Net Control program, and a copy of our latest database as well as any other tools we are currently using.

A Rooster of the Year was selected from four great nominees. Previous nominees were also reconsidered. One award, or gift of appreciation will be given. The Chief's award will be selected very soon. Many past recipients of both awards make the process somewhat difficult. We are blessed with many great members as well as many more good members. We have a few grumpy members.

Certificates will be coming soon. Jay is improving. He is cancer free but is still adjusting to his medications. New Roosters should be patient. Our certificates take six months but they are worth it.

73,

Mike
