It is with extreme sadness as I write this report, For me this starts this morning, noticing a lack of activity on frequency. I had stepped out of the shack briefly, and returned just after 6am. Jim, K3CHJ had just started taking a list of checkin's. I found this a bit odd, but would soon find out why. I joined the list, and in very short order learned of the passing of Ricky Lee Smith, KC4RIC Rooster number 1122.

For those that aren't active on the net, Ricky Lee was one of our Sunday net controls, and had been heard from on our net the previous morning. Todays net in retrospect held a memorial tone, and formally concluded at 20 minutes past the hour, though remained open till 8am. What information we have is that he was found unresponsive around midday Saturday by family. Life saving attemtps were made, but to no avail.
